1st Workshop of Iberian Palaeobotany and Palynology


We are pleased to inform that the next 22 February 2017 we will celebrate the first Workshop of Iberian Palaeobotany and Palynology. The workshop will be a one-day meeting. This event will be held at the Botanical Garden of Cordoba (Spain).

This workshop aims to provide an update vision of ongoing research in all fields of palaeobotany and palynology dealing with all groups, ranging from marine palynomorphs to higher land plants with a special emphasis to the Iberian Peninsula. Typical topics include but are not restricted to systematics, evolution, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, biostratigraphy, biochronology, palaeoclimatology, paleogeography, taphonomy, palaeoenvironmental reconstructions and/or vegetation history. However, communications are not restricted to the Iberian fossil record being possible embraces also studies developed by any research team of the Iberian Peninsula and its working network from any type of record or age. In addition, we encourage participation of young researchers who want share within a palaeobotanical audience new findings and advances on this discipline from any topic.

Linked to the first one-day Workshop of Iberian Palaeobotany and Palynology will be edited and special issue in the journal GEOBIOS (https://www.journals.elsevier.com/geobios). Deadline is expected to be at the end of March. All topics are welcome.

Participation is free and without fees of inscription, but invitation is needed. Please, all persons interested in participating do not hesitate to contact us. The participation will be confirmed without delay. Abstracts can be submitted until two days before of starting event. For preparation of abstracts please use the attached template. Only a one-page abstract per communication is allowed.
